New Work Dredging in CT6 and NCB8

Canaveral Harbor is a man-made harbor facility located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. Port Canaveral has three primary turning basins located along the east/west-oriented Inner Reach of the entrance channel. The West Turning Basin is used by cruise ships and the U.S. Coast Guard. The Middle Turning Basin is jointly used by commercial, U.S. Navy, and MSC vessels. The Trident Turning Basin is used by U.S. Navy Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine forces.

Cruise Terminal 6 (CT6) and the North Cargo Berth 8 (NCB8) are located within the West Turning Basin. Since its creation in 1973, CT6 has not been used as an active berth. There is a construction project within CT6 that involves inserting sheet-piling in front of the existing bulkhead and placing pipe-piling into the sediment to support the future wharf bulkhead. NCB8 and the adjacent fishing fleet basin (now filled in) were constructed in the late 1980s and have never been used.
