ANAMAR performed this Phase I Environmental Baseline Survey (EBS) with soil screening investigation to provide Cape Canaveral Air Force Station with a site evaluation, establish a baseline of the environmental condition of the Subject Property and identify any potential environmental concerns associated with the subject property. The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station proposes to transfer a portion of property to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to use for widening the existing Port Canaveral Federal Entrance Channel. A portion of the Subject Property will be excavated and the excavated material will be placed in the existing Upland Disposal Facility. Soil samples were collected and analyzed for potential contamination and the results were compared to Soil Cleanup Target Levels published in Florida Administrative Code 62-777.
The Phase I EBS investigation was conducted in accordance with Department of the Air Force Instruction (AFI) 32-7066, Environmental Baseline Surveys in Real Estate Transactions, dated April 25, 1994. Procedures documented in the AFI Chapter 2 (Conducting Phase 1 of the EBS) were followed during records searches, literature reviews, interviews, site visits, and formulation of conclusions. The investigation was also conducted in accordance within the scope and limitations of Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process, American Society for Testing and Materials Practice E 1527-05 (ASTM Practice E 1527-05).
